In the heart of Temecula wine country is a private, ten-acre estate where rose bushes scent the air and a wonderful variety of trees form shady groves around a serene lake, known for its spectacular nighttime display: “Fountains of Fire and Water.”
While this almost Eden-like oasis is terrific for concerts, retreats, memorials and reunions, it’s utterly romantic for weddings. Couples recite their vows under a flower-adorned arch on a grassy peninsula that juts out into the lake. Ornate lamps and fragrant roses edge the ceremony space, and stately pepper trees form a sheltering backdrop. Just across the lake, a picturesque waterfall cascades down large rocks.
Guests enjoy post-ceremony cocktails under a shady arbor and on the adjoining lawn. Strings of twinkle lights dangle from the arbor and wrap around the trees, and the optional addition of delicate Japanese lanterns enhances the romantic atmosphere. At night, the illumination elicits many “oohs” and “ahhs,” which multiply even more when the lake’s fountains light up in their fiery dance.
Lake Oak Meadows is a special place and deserves a place on your ‘must check out’ venue list while in Temecula.
