The month of May 2019 found the TVWP wedding professionals descending on one of the Wedgewood Wedding properties, Wedgewood Fallbrook. This wedding & reception venue is one of the more picturesque locations in the Fallbrook area for an event.
Our evening started off with the usual networking welcome on the breezeway with historically has served as the ceremony location for weddings. But the new ceremony lawn complete with cement platform and archway was clearly visible to the left and called to most of the guests at this meeting to explore.
Moving inside, one of the features of the property, which also houses the Golf Club of California business, is the club like feel of the bar & ballroom configuration. No portable bars needed here as the main bar has clear and easy access to all the aspects of the guests on-site property. In the ballroom is where most of our business is conducted of course. Being true to the location, our guest speaker after the overflowing buffet dinner and dessert bar was none other that Wedgewood Weddings’ VP of Sales, Julia Henning.
In her presentation, Julia, who oversees all of the sales, broke out some slides that really crystallized the present and future sales/marketing trends of our bridal cohorts that we’re all trying to target. It’s amazing to see graphically what your thinking is ‘maybe happening’ in the marketplace and sharing that other like industry professionals in the room this evening. We all could walk away from Julia’s talk and know that Wednesday morning we needed to focus our marketing efforts on doing more of this, and less of that; hint: social media. We all need focus – that’s focus on what really attracts & engages couples to action, and maybe focus less on what feels like it’s what I should do, but in the end has little results from an ROI perspective.
I know that’s broad, but that’s why attending these meetings is so important – to get the facts from others’ find that works and more importantly – that doesn’t!.
In the end we had a very good turnout, the food with the assistance of GM Nick Harrison was exceptional, and we at TVWP couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to have partners in the wedding industry like Wedgewood Weddings.
