Cal State San Marcos is again offering their Professional Certificate in Wedding Planning course for area wedding professionals and others who want to learn more about this evolving aspect of the wedding business.
It’s no secret that weddings and receptions are BIG business in the Temecula Valley with over 45 local ceremony venues vying for business from a diverse and ever growing destination wedding crowd. Last year in fact, the Temecula area played host to over 3,500 weddings.
The need for more trained and certified wedding providers is greater than ever and this course attempts to educate and train one of the most important aspects of the vendor crowd – the Wedding Planner. A wedding planner, or as some call it, wedding coordinator is a position that serves as the ringmaster for all the other professionals that the couple hires when they decide Temecula is the place for their event.
Our local wineries are more popular than ever in booking and facilitating this desire. As such, many of these venues have 2-5 wedding planners on their staffs just to handle the explosive nature of the business. Toss in all those independent wedding planners, and you have a huge market for trained providers.
In this course, lead Instructor Annette Nielsen will help to expose you to many of the hands-on aspects to the profession like budgeting, marketing, vendor relations, and traditions – additionally you will also be provided with venues tours, and exposure to many of the key wedding directors in the area that will give insights and tips to leverage this course in the real world.
The link here gives many of the course details, but the key date to keep in mind is the free, exploratory Meet the Instructors session on March 1st, at the Cal State campus off Margarita Road.
The Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals encourages all of the area wedding providers to be certified, licensed, and insured. Weddings are both a passion and a profession that requires furthering our industry knowledge with every chance we get.
